METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection Brings Together 10 Games and an Unreleased Version on Xbox
METAL SLUG’s 30th-anniversary collection is now available to wishlist on the Xbox Store, with modern accessibility options and archival content.

What we know
METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection is coming to Xbox with a selection of 10 entries from across the series, arriving as the franchise marks its 30th anniversary. The collection can be wishlisted now through the Xbox Store, but SNK has not announced a release date.
Its standout inclusion is a public test version, or location test build, of the first METAL SLUG. This version was used to test the game in arcades during development, but was never officially released. Ultimate Collection will bring it to a home console for the first time.
Ten games from arcade, console, and handheld releases
The lineup draws from the series’ arcade, home-console, and handheld history. The announcement says the games have been ported faithfully from their original releases, while the collection adds tools intended to make the games easier to approach.
Players will be able to adjust button layouts, rapid-fire speed, difficulty, and time settings. Support options include infinite weapon ammunition, mission select, rewind, and quick save/load. Those additions let returning players and newcomers tailor how they play the classic games.
Modes, replays, and archive material
Ultimate Collection will include Combat School Mode, where conversations with the instructor change according to mission performance. It also features score and clear-time rankings, replay support, a visual gallery, and a sound player.
Modes and features may differ between included titles. For now, METAL SLUG Ultimate Collection can be added to an Xbox Store wishlist to follow future news and release information once it is announced.
