RuneScape: Dragonwilds Comes to Xbox Series X|S on September 15
Jagex’s survival RPG will be the first RuneScape game on Xbox, supporting solo play and co-op for up to four players.

Jagex will launch RuneScape: Dragonwilds for Xbox Series X|S on September 15, 2026. The 1.0 release marks the first time a RuneScape game has come to Xbox, and it will also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
Dragonwilds is a survival RPG set in the RuneScape universe. It supports solo play or co-op for one to four players, sending adventurers to Ashenfall, a hidden continent in Gielinor. Players begin as ordinary explorers and must build up their abilities before taking on the Dragon Queen, Kuldra.
Progression lets players raise skills from level 1 to 99 while crafting gear, gathering resources, and building shelters. Its construction system includes hundreds of pieces for creating bases designed to withstand the ever-present dragon threat.
Magic and survival in Ashenfall
Ashenfall will feature dangerous regions, vaults, and foes including Black Knights, Zogres, Chromatic Dragons, Kalphites, and the new Garou. The setting is also shaped by wild anima, a magical force behind the game’s Skill Spells.
Those spells can be used to summon a spectral axe for cutting trees, blink away from danger, detonate ore veins, or call up a tornado of fish. Jagex presents these abilities as tools that expand and speed up survival, exploration, and resource gathering.
According to the company, the game’s map has tripled in size over the past 18 months. That expansion has added three regions with area bosses, material upgrades, and recognizable RuneScape gear.
Jagex has also confirmed a post-launch content roadmap extending into 2027 and beyond. The developer says player feedback has shaped that plan, resulting in dedicated servers arriving earlier than planned as well as new combat and quest content.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds will be available on Xbox Series X|S only within the Xbox ecosystem. For console players, it offers the first chance to play a RuneScape adventure on Xbox, combining skill progression, building, survival systems, and cooperative play.
