What you play: camera, scrapbook and two-player Buddy mode
It is a photo-powered adventure: Bluey and Bingo find Dad’s old camera and explore Brisbane, the show’s hometown, snapping photos and uncovering hidden surprises. Every photo is saved to a scrapbook you can decorate with stickers, and costumes for Bluey and Bingo unlock along the way. Locations come straight from the show, such as the riverbank water dragons from the episode “Ice Cream” and the lookout from “The Sign”, and Play for Real Life tips encourage play away from the screen with everyday objects.
In Buddy mode, a second player joins on the same system to explore and strike a pose while the main player leads behind the camera. According to Nintendo, there is no online play and there are no in-game purchases.
Studio, languages and a note for Xbox
Gameloft Brisbane developed the game in collaboration with Ludo Studio and BBC Studios. From launch it has Castilian Spanish text and full English voice-over; localized voice-over in other languages, including Castilian Spanish, arrives via a free update shortly after release, according to the announcement. If you buy the physical Xbox edition, note that the packaging incorrectly says the game is HDR10 compatible: the feature is not supported. To mark the launch, Gameloft also teamed up with conservationist Bindi Irwin, who appears in the overview trailer.
