MSFS 2024: free National Championship Air Races and Racer Pack 1
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has received the free National Championship Air Races expansion on October 13 as part of Sim Update 7, plus the paid National Championship Air Races – Racer Pack 1 with 40 racing aircraft. The Microsoft Flight Simulator team confirmed it on flightsimulator.com; Xbox Wire covered it the same day.

What we know
The expansion brings the National Championship Air Races — low-level pylon racing — with Reno and Roswell venues. It includes four pylon classes (Unlimited, Jet, T-6 and Biplane) plus STOL Drag as 1v1 contests. MSFS presents the package as a free Sim Update 7 expansion.
Pilots can fly solo in Time Trials, organise their own multiplayer races or join existing ones. Optional realism includes simulated wear-and-tear: running wide-open throttle for a whole race can degrade engine parts, mirroring real air racing.
Racer Pack 1: 40 paid aircraft
Alongside the free expansion comes Racer Pack 1: 40 famous racing aircraft, 10 in each pylon class (Unlimited, Jet, T-6 and Biplane). It costs $39.99 USD via the in-sim Marketplace, the Microsoft/Xbox store and Steam. Aircraft are also sold individually or as class packs of 10.
Named examples on the official page include, in Unlimited, P-51D Mustang "Strega" (11-time champion), "Voodoo" (piston speed record at 554.69 mph) and "Bunny"; in Jet, L-39C Albatros "American Spirit," "Drop Bear" and "Pipsqueak"; in T-6, SNJ-4 "Big Red," AT-6B "Baron's Revenge" and T-6G "Six-Cat"; in Biplane, Pitts S-1S "Miss Diane," "Yellow Bomber" and "Blackhawk." The full list of 40 is on flightsimulator.com.
Platforms
Per the same official page, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is available on Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, PC, PlayStation 5, PS VR2, Steam and, via Xbox Cloud Gaming, on phones, tablets and lower-spec PCs.
