Peak climbs onto PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2 on October 22 with crossplay

The announcement came on October 15 through the PlayStation Blog and Aggro Crab's official X account. Peak arrives on October 22 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2, with crossplay: you can climb with up to three friends no matter which platform each of them plays on, PC community included, according to Gematsu.

The console version includes every content update, biome and item the game has received since it launched on Steam on June 16, 2025. That includes custom runs, which let a group make the climb easier or harder.

A physical edition on PS5

Skybound Games will distribute a physical PS5 edition for $19.99, €19.99 or £14.99. It includes the game on disc, a passport kit and an extra game code to give to a friend, which fits a game built around playing in a group. Pre-orders are open now. Official sources have not yet detailed the price of the digital console version.

What Peak is

Peak is a co-op climbing game where the smallest mistake can doom the expedition. Solo or with a group of lost scouts, you have to scale the mountain at the centre of a mysterious island to get rescued, crossing four biomes with tornadoes, poison clouds, birds and zombies. You scavenge questionable food and manage injuries, because every setback cuts your stamina. The map also changes every 24 hours.

The game started as a one-month game jam in Seoul in February 2025, with three developers from Aggro Crab, the Seattle studio behind Another Crab's Treasure, and four from Landfall, the Stockholm studio behind Content Warning and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. Together they work as Team Peak.
