The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 adds a skill reset, a new Story mode and 1,100+ fixes
Rebel Wolves has detailed The Blood of Dawnwalker’s Update 1.1, planned for next week. It adds an item to reset your skills, a new Story mode with more combat assistance, extra subtitle options and, according to the studio, more than 1,100 improvements and fixes.

When it arrives
The Polish studio shared the preview on Friday, October 16, on the game’s official site and social channels with a clear message: Update 1.1 is “planned for next week”. It hasn’t given a specific day or published the full patch notes yet, and it hasn’t said whether the update will arrive on every platform at the same time. The Blood of Dawnwalker is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
A skill reset and a more accessible mode
The headline addition is a new item, the Draught of Mind Rebirth. Using it makes you forget every ability learned in the Swordmastery, Witchcraft and Vampirism trees, and the time you spent on them can be used to master a different set. In practice, it lets you change your playstyle without starting a new save.
Difficulty is changing too. The current Story mode will be renamed Forgiving, and a new, even easier Story mode with additional combat assistance will take its place. Game Rant notes that game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz had already teased an extra difficulty mode in September.
On accessibility, Update 1.1 lets you increase the subtitle size and turn subtitles on for all dialogue lines. There’s also a lighter touch: the combat’s directional system can now be used to pet dogs and cats.
Combat, camera and performance
The remaining changes are about polish. The frame generation technology (FrameGen) is being updated with dedicated settings; camera animations and movement during combat are being adjusted; and targeting, locking onto and disengaging from enemies is improved. The Shadowstep and Planeshift traversal abilities also respond better when targeting and attaching to surfaces.
The Japanese version of the game on Steam will no longer censor blood and gore. On top of all that, Rebel Wolves promises more than 1,100 further improvements and fixes, which should be detailed once the full patch notes are published.
Background
