Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches March 4, 2027; alpha demo available now

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember will launch for PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2027, Koei Tecmo has announced. A limited-time alpha demo is also live today and will remain available until September 30, 2026.

The trial offers a portion of the Changban stage, placing players in a dark fantasy take on the Three Kingdoms era where demons exist alongside historical figures. It also includes multiplayer co-op and character creation, giving players an early chance to test both features.

Combat, skills, and open battlefields

Combat blends Chinese martial arts with a balance of offense and defense. Its systems include Deflect, which nullifies and redirects enemy strikes, alongside a selection of weapons and Martial Arts techniques.

The sequel introduces Insight Skills, which expand the protagonist’s actions. These skills can be used to halt and answer enemy attacks, send opponents into walls, or knock down foes attacking from above.

Changban and the Red Cliffs are among the Three Kingdoms locations presented as open battlefields. Players will encounter enemy strongholds and demonic lairs, with options including flanking enemy lines, taking bases, laying traps, and recruiting enemy generals to shift a battle’s momentum.

The game tells an original story in a dark fantasy version of the Three Kingdoms. Immortality elixirs and demons inspired by beings from classical Chinese literature appear alongside warriors from the era. Characters from the previous game will retain important roles, while the story is designed to remain approachable for newcomers.

Players who defeat the Wuzhiqi boss in the demo will unlock the special Fledgling Phoenix Helmet for use in the full game.
