What we know

Serenity Forge has unveiled Faraday Blues, a surreal sci-fi adventure coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC in 2027, with Xbox Cloud support. The game received its world premiere during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show broadcast and is now available to wishlist.

The story follows Lina, a girl who wakes up somewhere unfamiliar while searching for parents who do not know she exists. An old computer leads her to a tabletop covered in cards, including two bearing her parents’ faces. Their lives have already been shaped by tragedy, but Lina can reset the board and attempt to change what happened.

A deck used to alter family history

Faraday Blues is built around a 52-card deck, but its cards are not for combat or creature summoning. They represent characters, memories, items, and other pieces of the Faraday family’s history.

Players can place character cards into conversations, locations, and pivotal events, then enter the timeline to see the outcome. Changing who is outside a room, bringing two people together, or allowing someone to find an object or memory can reshape relationships and carry consequences across decades.

Characters can also shift between Order and Entropy, change suits, or transform in ways that affect later possibilities. Crucially, characters cannot be in multiple places at once: assigning someone to a smaller interaction may mean they are unavailable for the next major event. Repairing one relationship can therefore leave somebody else alone at a critical moment.

Three visual novels shaped by accumulated choices

Faraday Blues consists of three connected visual novels spanning three eras of the Faraday family. Each has its own visual identity, atmosphere, narrative style, and version of the apartment, but they are not standalone stories.

Choices made in the first reality change the board in the second. Relationships, memories, items, character states, and even achieved endings carry forward, with the third era reflecting the accumulated consequences of earlier decisions.

The game will feature 64 endings. Some may be victories, but most are not: saving one person can create another tragedy, while certain paths only become available after players learn more about the people involved and discover additional ways to manipulate the timeline.

Faraday Blues is being developed by Serenity Forge with co-creator and lead artist Satchely, narrative director Kevin Ye, composer Kris Wilson, and voice performer Nichole Goodnight. The rest of the cast will be revealed at a later date.
