Jin Sakai Returns as a Playable Character in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted

What we know

Jin Sakai will be the fourth playable character in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted, the new single-player combat survival mode included with Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Sucker Punch Productions revealed the addition during State of Play, confirming that Jin retains all four of his signature stances from Ghost of Tsushima.

Most Wanted uses a roguelike-inspired structure. Players begin a run by choosing a bounty from a bounty board, with challenges that rise in difficulty. Each bounty centers on a different member of the Yōtei Six, though reaching that target means surviving waves of enemies and minibosses. Clearing a wave unlocks perks that can be used to shape an increasingly powerful build before the bounty’s final boss encounter.

Bounties can be replayed at higher difficulty levels, culminating in the toughest bounty against Lord Saito. Runs also award Mon, which can be spent outside the mode to unlock techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and additional characters. Cosmetics earned in Most Wanted will carry over to the main game and the Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion.

Four fighters and changing builds

Atsu is the default starting character. She uses dual katanas alongside two Ghost Tools: Metsubushi, or Blinding Powder, and a Blind Bomb. Her Ultimate, Call of the Pack, summons two wolves to attack nearby foes, while her Kill Streak, Onryō’s Howl, terrifies nearby enemies and forces one to run away.

Oyuki fights with a kusarigama, kunai, and a tanegashima rifle. Her Shadow Killer Ultimate releases smoke, allowing her to swiftly assassinate two nearby enemies. Her Shadow Shinobi Kill Streak temporarily summons a Nine Tails ally that fights alongside her and performs assassinations.

Nagato brings a yari, tanzutsu pistol, yumi long bow, and hankyu short bow. His Gambler’s Mark Ultimate locks onto two enemies and guarantees a headshot on each. Blast Arrow, his Kill Streak, refills Concentration and provides an explosive arrow.

Jin uses a katana and all four original stances, allowing him to exploit enemy weaknesses. He also starts with a Sticky Bomb and a hankyu. His Ultimate is Dance of Wrath, the Ghost of Tsushima skill that targets multiple foes and disarms them. Ghost Stance is his Kill Streak, terrifying surrounding enemies and allowing a limited number of one-hit kills.

Alongside each character’s distinct weapons and abilities, perks are central to build-making in Most Wanted. As a run progresses, players can choose bonuses covering weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parries, survivability, and other effects.

Echoes of Sekigahara details its new region

Sucker Punch also offered a fresh look at Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara, an expansion split between two points in Atsu’s life: her time on the mainland during the massive Battle of Sekigahara, and the present day. The Sekigahara section explores Atsu’s past with Nagato, an important figure who fought alongside her.

In the present, Nagato has arrived in Ezo while being sought by the Vipers, outlaws loyal to Snake after their leader’s death. The poachers have seized Ashoro Foothills, a previously unseen Ezo area once full of wildlife that has been left devastated. Atsu must reluctantly work with Nagato to find a close ally taken by the Vipers.

Ashoro Foothills will introduce new enemy types, wieldable heavy weapons, mythic tales and abilities, armor sets, and cosmetics.

Southeast Asia dates, free update, and pricing

Complete Edition content, including Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara, launches on October 1, 2026 in Bangkok and Jakarta, followed by October 2 in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.

Existing Ghost of Yōtei owners can pre-order the Complete Edition Upgrade for SGD 20.27 / MYR 60.11 / IDR 220,890 / THB 524. Along with the two new additions, it grants immediate access to the former Digital Deluxe Edition content and the Charm of Hokkyokusei. Pre-orders placed by September 30 will unlock the Sakai Armor early for Atsu on October 1 or 2, without first earning it through Most Wanted.

The full digital edition costs SGD 97.90 / MYR 299 / IDR 1,142,000 / THB 2,290. It includes the base game, the online co-op mode Ghost of Yōtei Legends, Digital Deluxe Edition content, the Charm of Hokkyokusei, and access to Most Wanted and Echoes of Sekigahara at launch. Complete Edition also adds Photo Mode stamps, New Game Plus cosmetics, and new Trophies for both additions. A physical Complete Edition will arrive on the same regional dates.

All Ghost of Yōtei owners will receive a free patch on October 1, or October 2 in certain territories across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. The update adds Beauty of Yōtei, a mode for browsing Ezo’s environments and exploring them in Photo Mode; new tracks for Watanabe Mode; an option to retain one armor set’s appearance while using another set’s statistics; and a high-contrast accessibility setting. The patch requires an internet connection and a PlayStation account.
