Until Dawn 2 launches on PS5 January 28, 2027
Firesprite confirms the release date, with pre-orders opening September 10 and details on the Digital Deluxe Edition.

Until Dawn 2 will launch for PS5 on January 28, 2027. Firesprite Games also confirmed that pre-orders for the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions will open on September 10, 2026.
Players will guide Dead True, a team of ghost-hunting YouTubers accompanied by a chicken, as they head to Akishima Island. The group’s survival against the island’s horrors will depend on the choices players make.
Firesprite crafted the story with AdHoc Studio, the team behind Dispatch. The announcement says dialogue, character relationships, and individual decisions can all produce dramatic consequences, including different deaths.
New trailer introduces Dead True and Akishima Island
The pre-order trailer first follows the crew as they investigate Blackwood Sanitorium while filming an episode about tragic events from 12 years earlier. Izzy, Dead True’s new intern, makes an unexpected discovery that changes the group’s plans.
Later, at HorrorCon in Sydney, Dead True meets Yoona, a survivor of a supernatural attack. Her warning sends the team to a remote South Pacific island that has been abandoned since the mysterious closure of a luxury resort in the 1970s. Firesprite’s announcement points to ancient secrets on Akishima and a threat seeking revenge.
The trailer also presents two branching decisions. Owen can follow a signal in an effort to help his missing friend Nate, or cross an unstable bridge to investigate a strangely lively bar. Mina is confronted with a demand for a live ritual sacrifice: she can sacrifice the chicken or free it and offer her own blood for the ritual instead.
Dr. Hill, played by Peter Stormare, returns in the sequel. Pre-ordering either edition will unlock Dr. Hill-themed content: the classic Until Dawn outfit, an Akishima Island holiday outfit, and collectible Dr. Hill bobbleheads to find in-game.
Digital Deluxe Edition contents
The Digital Deluxe Edition adds two extras:
Y2K Neon Vibes Pack, featuring neon costumes for all eight Dead True members: Owen, Mina, Nate, Reagan, Izzy, Luke, Josie, and Cameron. Diorama of Death, which lets players revisit every death through vignettes showing distinct perspectives on each fatal outcome.
With a release date now set and pre-orders approaching, PS5 players will be able to determine the fate of Dead True’s eight members — and their unusual companion — when Until Dawn 2 arrives on January 28, 2027.
