Control Resonant expands Assist Mode with options to ease or intensify combat
Remedy’s game will let players alter specific combat mechanics, use presets, and retain access to every trophy when it arrives on PS5 on September 24.

What we know
Control Resonant launches on PS5 on September 24 with an expanded Assist Mode that lets players tune a wide range of combat elements individually. Rather than restricting players to a small selection of broad difficulty levels, Remedy Entertainment is providing separate controls to shape the experience around personal needs and preferences.
The new combat system is built around Dylan’s shapeshifting close-range weapon, the Aberrant. Its encounters ask players to read enemy attacks, manage staggers and status effects, and dodge with good timing. Remedy’s Assist Mode is designed to alter the parts of that experience that may be causing trouble without automatically changing everything else.
Confirmed options include Enemy Aggression, which can ease the pressure when enemies attack from several directions. Players can also widen the Perfect Dodge Window or slow enemy projectiles.
Incoming Damage, Outgoing Damage, and Outgoing Falter can all be changed independently. Outgoing Falter determines how quickly an enemy’s posture is broken. The menu also includes settings to speed up Dylan’s power recovery and strengthen enhanced melee magnetizing, making positioning during melee attacks more forgiving.
For players who would rather focus on exploring Manhattan and following the story, Assist Mode will offer Immortality, One-Hit Kills, and the new One-Hit Falters option.
Available at any point, with presets
Remedy has chosen not to present these decisions before a first playthrough begins. Assist Mode can be enabled or disabled at any time while playing, allowing players to first experience the intended combat rhythm and then alter individual settings when needed.
The game will also include Assist Mode Presets built around different play styles. Individual settings can still be fine-tuned after choosing one.
The expanded system is not only intended to lower the challenge. Unlike the first Control, Assist Mode sliders in Control Resonant work in both directions. Players who find the standard game too lenient can increase enemy aggression, narrow the Perfect Dodge Window, and raise Incoming Damage for a more demanding run.
Using these options will not lock players out of trophies or achievements. That means players can apply the settings they need without losing access to those rewards when Control Resonant arrives on PS5 on September 24.
