LEGO PlayStation recreates the original console in 1,911 pieces

PlayStation and the LEGO Group have unveiled LEGO PlayStation, a set that lets fans build a replica of the original PlayStation console and controller. It will launch on October 1, 2026, as a celebration of more than 30 years of shared experiences around the brand.

The set contains 1,911 pieces and recreates the console at near 1:1 scale. When assembled, it measures 10.5 inches (26 cm) wide. According to PlayStation, the build includes hidden details connected to the company’s history as well as nods to two iconic games that launched on the original PlayStation: Ape Escape and Gran Turismo.

Removable dioramas and interactive details

Both games are represented by dioramas that can be removed from the console and displayed separately. The Gran Turismo piece includes a miniature track with scaled-down cars, while the Ape Escape diorama depicts an island scene and allows builders to swap the monkey helmet’s light between blue and red.

The replica also features working mechanisms for the console’s Power and Open buttons. Its controller can be plugged into the unit, completing a model designed for both building and display.

Release dates, availability, and price

LEGO PlayStation will be available directly through direct.playstation.com from October 1, 2026, in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

LEGO Insiders Early Access also begins on October 1. General availability through LEGO.com and LEGO Stores follows on October 4, 2026.

The recommended retail price is $179.99 USD, €159.99, £139.99, and ¥27,980, including tax for the Japanese price.
