PlayStation Store: August 2026’s top downloads

PlayStation has published its PlayStation Store download charts for August 2026. The rankings cover PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play titles, with separate lists for the US/Canada and Europe.

On PS5, EA Sports Madden NFL 27 was the most downloaded game in the US and Canada, followed by MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Call of Duty: Black Ops II ranked third in that region and topped the European PS5 chart. Minecraft and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced rounded out Europe’s top three.

PS4 had different chart leaders in each market. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands took first place in the US and Canada, while Assassin’s Creed Odyssey led in Europe. Red Dead Redemption 2, Gang Beasts, Batman: Arkham Knight, and Dying Light were also among the prominent entries across both lists.

For PS VR2, Synapse was the leading download in the US and Canada. Europe placed I Am Cat at number one, ahead of Beat Saber and Bootstrap Island. The virtual reality rankings count PlayStation Store purchases only, excluding upgrades and games bundled with hardware.

In free-to-play, Fortnite was the most downloaded title in both regions, with Roblox in second place. Once Human (F2P) ranked third across the US/Canada and Europe alike. Other high-ranking games included Marvel Rivals, Rocket League, Call of Duty: Warzone, Fall Guys, and eFootball.

PlayStation notes that product names can differ by region. PS5 chart rankings also exclude game upgrades.
