Xbox details the games arriving September 7–11

What we know

Xbox has published its weekly release list for September 7–11. The schedule spans sports, horror, strategy, simulation, puzzles, and action across Xbox ecosystems, with several releases optimized for Xbox Series X|S and others carrying features such as Xbox Play Anywhere or Smart Delivery.

The major September 11 release is EA SPORTS NHL 27, which is optimized for Xbox Series X|S. The new entry aims to represent the identity of all 32 NHL venues through distinct arena atmospheres, real-world goal songs, new pregame introductions, and an overhauled crowd system.

Several games arrive earlier on September 8. Halloween: The Game, also optimized for Xbox Series X|S, is an asymmetrical horror title set in Haddonfield on Halloween night in 1978. Players can take on the role of Michael Myers or a local hero. Myers relies on stealth and shadows, while residents can alert the authorities and attempt to fight back.

Also launching that day is Mewgenics, a turn-based tactical roguelike about breeding cats, manipulating their genetics across generations, drafting abilities, and collecting items. September 8 additionally brings Bus Simulator 27, featuring more than 45 licensed buses from 13 manufacturers and, for the first time in the series, coaches for long-distance travel; Culdcept The First Saturn Tribute, bringing the original digital board game and deck-building hybrid outside Japan; Hole in Many; Honeycomb: The World Beyond; and the first-person shooter SPRAWL Zero.

Game Pass and the September 9–10 lineup

The Royal Writ joins Game Pass on September 10. It is optimized for Xbox Series X|S and supports Xbox Play Anywhere. Its card-based battlefield system has units advance toward the opposing side, but any that reach the enemy base before victory are permanently removed from the deck for the rest of that run. Sacrificing cards is therefore part of each run’s strategy.

September 9 will see the release of HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush, optimized for Xbox Series X|S and supporting Xbox Play Anywhere, alongside Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster, Cats Around Us: Black Cats, and Jewel Match Solitaire X. Infinite Rush combines racing and free exploration across four islands, each ruled by a Rush Master. Completing that opponent’s challenge earns players its car and title.

September 10 is particularly busy. Alongside The Royal Writ, Xbox lists the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Train Sim World 7, featuring three routes and support for Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere; the combat-free psychological thriller The Alighieri Circle: Dante’s Bloodline; Japanese psychological horror game BrokenLore: Don’t Lie; Deconstruction Simulator; physics-based cooperative construction game Dumb Ways to Build; and Fresh Tracks, a skiing, action, and music adventure where players unlock abilities, divine companions, and tracks.

The same date also includes Lost in Loss, Mole Mine Boom, RIN: The Last Child, and Warshift 2: Machines of Madness. The group covers hidden-object and puzzle games, a magic-focused Metroidvania, and a blend of strategy, action, and RPG elements involving bases, troops, and vehicles.

September 11 releases

Joining NHL 27 on September 11 are Dino Odyssey, Dominus Mahjong Arcana, and Liquid Cats. Dino Odyssey supports Smart Delivery and Xbox Play Anywhere, and puts players in control of a dinosaur rescuing eggs to help ensure its species survives. Dominus Mahjong Arcana has 40 levels with gradually increasing difficulty, while Liquid Cats is a grid-based route puzzle about stretching a cat across every tile.

Xbox notes that release dates are subject to change. For players looking for something new during the week, The Royal Writ is the Game Pass option, while the wider lineup ranges from a major sports release to independent and more specialized games.
