ID@Xbox October Showcase: Arctic Eggs out now, Mouthwashing on Game Pass and more
Tuesday’s ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase on October 20 brought what Xbox billed as a surprise launch, Arctic Eggs, out now on Xbox Series X|S; a date for Mouthwashing, which Xbox Wire says joins Game Pass on October 29; and a stack of release dates and windows for indies arriving through late 2027.

Arctic Eggs, on sale now
During the stream, which kicked off at 10 a.m. PT, Xbox billed Arctic Eggs as a “surprise launch”. The Water Museum’s egg-frying sim is available to buy on Xbox Series X|S from today. It’s a physics-and-patience game set in a surreal Antarctic city where almost anything can go in the pan: beer bottles, bullets or cigarettes. It’s a standard purchase: Xbox lists it as available to buy, not among the games heading to Game Pass.
Straight to Game Pass on day one
Mouthwashing, Wrong Organ’s psychological horror game published by Critical Reflex, arrives on October 29 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox One and, according to Xbox Wire, joins Game Pass the same day; the Game Pass schedule lists it for Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. Critical Reflex says it has sold more than 800,000 copies on Steam since its 2024 PC launch. The publisher also confirmed that No, I’m Not a Human, Trioskaz’s thriller with more than a million copies sold on PC, is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Game Pass in 2027, and reminded fans that Militsioner, announced in August, is also headed to Game Pass that year.
Scramble Knights Online, an MMO-lite action RPG built for playing with friends, launches on October 26 in Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as a Game Preview (early access) title, according to the Game Pass schedule published today.
A Game About Digging a Hole Together, the co-op sequel to A Game About Digging a Hole, was announced in late September and now has a date: December 4 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Game Pass. According to the September announcement, it’s also coming to PS5, Switch 2 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), though it hasn’t been confirmed whether those versions launch the same day.
Further out are Croak (March 2027), a hand-drawn precision platformer starring a frog prince who swings around with his tongue; Mr. Magpie’s Harmless Card Game (early 2027), a roguelike deckbuilder with Matt Mercer voicing its unsettling host; Drill Keeper (summer 2027), a deckbuilding tower-defense hybrid announced for Xbox on PC; and Red Kiss, Wispfire’s tactical RPG about vampire spies in Cold War Berlin, still undated. All four will be on Game Pass at launch.
Dates for remasters and Xbox versions
The Wolf Among Us Remastered, one of the two names confirmed before the stream (as covered in our preview), keeps its October 29 digital launch on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and debuted a story trailer with the first look at Bigby’s redesigned werewolf form.
Zero Parades: Director’s Cut, ZA/UM’s espionage RPG, comes to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on November 3, the same day as its PS5 and Switch 2 versions. It adds around 40,000 words of new story, Backstage Mode and full English voice-over.
Aspyr’s Shrek 2 Remastered launches on November 10 on Xbox Series X|S and is up for pre-order now: until November 9, Game Pass members get up to 20% off the pre-order, and everyone else gets 10%. Finally, Rustown, a story-driven stealth adventure from Plotrick, is dated for June 30, 2027 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC.
World premieres and other windows
Magenta Down is the new sci-fi adventure from 2 Ton Studios, the makers of Unto the End: after a crash, you cross a hostile exoplanet, enduring injuries and radiation on scarce supplies, to save yourself and find your crew. It’s coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC in 2027, with the official recap pointing to early in the year. Love is a Roguelite (LIAR), which blends turn-based tactics, deckbuilding and dating sim, debuted its first trailer and lands in fall 2027, while Waveling Island, a cozy pixel-art creature-collecting sim, follows in early 2027.
Other games with release windows include Paper Shredder (this winter), Vanran (early 2027), Mr. Records (spring 2027), Chronoscript: The Endless End (summer 2027) and Graytail (November 2027). Xbox notes that many games from the show will support Xbox Play Anywhere, so you can play on console and PC without paying twice. The full list, with every trailer, is in the official Xbox Wire recap.
