Xbox Free Play Days Offers Four Games to Try Through September 6

Xbox has launched a new Free Play Days selection, letting players try four games through Sunday, September 6, 2026. The lineup mixes temporary full access for certain titles with timed trials for others.

The Survivalists is available from September 3 to September 6 for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and Essential members. Players explore an island shaped by day-and-night cycles, gather resources, and contend with animals and mythical enemies in procedurally generated wilderness.

Meanwhile, EA Sports College Football 27 can be tried over the same period by all Xbox members, with no Game Pass subscription required. Optimized for Xbox Series X|S, the game includes Dynasty Blueprint, expanded position customization in Road to Glory, and the Mascot Mashup mode.

Two two-hour trials are also open to all Xbox members. The Lonesome Guild, optimized for Xbox Series X|S and supporting Xbox Play Anywhere, follows Ghost, a spirit with no memories who must assemble a group of heroes in the world of Etere. It combines character relationships, combat, and exploration.

The other trial is Under The Waves, a narrative adventure optimized for Xbox Series X|S. Set beneath the North Sea in a techno-futuristic 1970s, it follows professional diver Stan as he deals with a life-altering loss. The game is also discounted by 85% through September 6.

Xbox says the games can be found through their individual Xbox.com pages, which link to the Microsoft Store. On console, the Free Play Days collection is available under the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Players who buy a game afterward keep the achievements and Gamerscore earned during the event, though discounts and availability may differ by title and region.
