Xbox Highlights Six Indies in Its September 2026 Selection
The new Indie Selects collection brings together action, strategy, platforming, and multiplayer games through Xbox’s Indie Select Hub.

What we know
Xbox has published its September 2026 Indie Selects lineup, a collection of six games chosen by the ID@Xbox team that rework familiar genres in sharply different ways. The selection is available through the Indie Select Hub in the Xbox Store and at Xbox.com/IndieSelects.
The hub receives a newly curated collection every Wednesday alongside four themed spotlights that rotate weekly. September’s picks are Dispatch, Truck-kun Is Supporting Me from Another World?!, CULTIC, Duskfade, The King Is Watching, and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam.
Six very different genre takes
Dispatch moves superhero fiction into an office setting. Players take control of Robert Robertson, also known as Mecha Man, who loses his mechanical suit and joins a superhero dispatch network. Rather than responding to Los Angeles emergencies himself, he decides which team members to send—despite many of them being former supervillains attempting to become heroes. The game combines workplace comedy, narrative choices, and strategic management of each character’s abilities during calls.
In Truck-kun Is Supporting Me from Another World?!, a truck driver named Carissa runs over an office worker and becomes linked to an elf from the world of Talinfold. Its timed challenges revolve around driving, wrecking objects, and hitting people to spawn monsters for the elf to defeat and earn experience. It also features a free-roam city mode with physics-driven destruction, ring jumps, and exploration.
CULTIC combines the pace of retro first-person shooters with survival-horror elements. Revived from the dead, its protagonist must eliminate a cult and the creatures it summons. Axes, pistols, rifles, and dynamite form part of the arsenal, while the level design alternates between intense combat encounters, unsettling locations, and sustained tension.
Duskfade draws on the structure of 3D platformers. Zirian sets out after the death of his grandfather and after his sister’s secret project spirals out of control, unleashing hostile creatures and changing the land around their city. Players explore dangerous areas, collect currency, fight, dodge and block attacks, unlock upgrades, and visit merchants.
Meanwhile, The King Is Watching is a real-time strategy game with roguelite progression. Players defend a kingdom against enemy waves, but buildings only operate while they are being actively watched. Early on, attention is limited to three spaces in a rotating grid, forcing difficult decisions between gathering resources, training units, and generating spells. Runs can unlock permanent upgrades, kings, advisors, structures, and units.
The sixth pick, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, is focused entirely on large-scale historical multiplayer warfare. Its battles pit 50 players against 50 across six maps, with 17 classes and multiple modes. There are no conveniences such as minimaps or enemy markers, making squad coordination especially important. The factions also have asymmetric tools: U.S. forces can use helicopters for transport and aerial support, while Vietnamese forces can use tunnel networks for movement, flanking, and ambushes.
The monthly collection spans narrative games and platforming through demanding strategy and tactical multiplayer combat. All six titles are gathered in the Indie Select Hub, giving Xbox players one place to find the selection and its weekly rotating spotlights.
