Xbox Free Play Days: NBA 2K27, Crusader Kings III and more (Oct 15–18)
Xbox has announced its Free Play Days lineup for October 15–18, 2026. Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members can play several titles for free this weekend; NBA 2K27 Standard Edition joins a day later, and The Alters offers a three-hour timed trial for every player, with no Game Pass required.
Lineup for October 15–18
From Thursday, October 15 through Sunday, October 18, Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members can play Crusader Kings III, Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop, Soccer Story and Ravenswatch. NBA 2K27 (Standard Edition) joins from Friday, October 16 at 12:00 p.m. PDT through Sunday, October 18, on the same memberships.
The Alters also offers a free three-hour timed trial from October 15–18 for all players; Game Pass is not required.
How to install
On PC or the web, find each game on Xbox.com: the link takes you to the Microsoft Store, where you must be signed in to see the option to install it with your membership. On console (Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S), open the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and scroll down to the Free Play Days collection. Buying a game during the event keeps the Gamerscore and achievements you earned; discounts and availability vary by title and region.
Weekend offers
Ravenswatch is 65% off during the weekend and has just added Kintaro, a new DLC hero inspired by Japanese folklore, alongside a talent rework for every hero. And if you buy any digital edition of NBA 2K27 from October 16–29, Xbox includes an Xbox Gift Card plus a 15,000 Virtual Currency pack.
